Course Details
Our combined CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Strata training has been designed to enable you to get your IT career on the move quickly and economically. The course is perfect for those with no prior IT experience as it will teach students the fundamentals of PC operation and maintenance and progress through to more advanced functionality at the A+ level. The CompTIA A+ certification is the globally recognised entry standard for computer engineers and technicians.
Your course will begin with the more basic aspects of PC functionality including computer components, Window management, storing items, working with files, the desktop, start menu, taskbar settings, display settings, system settings, performance and malware to name but a few.
A little further into the course materials you will tackle the more complex aspects such as assembling a PC, upgrading a computer system, troubleshooting, PC maintenance, peripheral devices, mother boards and more.
The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is a professional body recognised throughout the industry and gaining certification from the CompTIA can vastly increase your profile and career prospects.
Qualifications
Following successful completion of your assignments you will be required to sit 3 exams at a local centre:
- CompTIA Level 1 Strata Fundamentals of PC Functionality FC0-U11 Certificate
- CompTIA Level 2 Essentials Exam 220-701
- CompTIA Level 2 Practical Application Exam 220-702
Upon successful completion of the exams you will be awarded the following:
- CompTIA Strata Fundamentals of PC Functionality certification
- CompTIA A+ Certified Professional Certification

Study Details
The course has been designed in a logical order so not only can you learn at a pace comfortable to you but so you can build on the knowledge you have already gained when you move onto the next topic. The duration of the course should amount to approximately 250 hours of study time.
The course is designed with 4 study modules spread over 9 books. Whilst working your way through the modules you will be given a total of 45 assignments to complete throughout the duration of the computer maintenance course. These provide your tutor with the opportunity to review your progress and offer helpful feedback.
At the end of the course you will need to attend a local test centre to sit the following exams:
- CompTIA Level 1 Strata Fundamentals of PC Functionality FC0-U11 Certificate
- CompTIA Level 2 Essentials Exam 220-701
- CompTIA Level 2 Practical Application Exam 220-702
Careers
