The Oracle Certified Java Programmer course is divided into two study sections - Java Programming Fundamentals, and Oracle Certified Java Programmer for Java 6.

Section 2 - Oracle Certified Java Programmer for Java 6
This section centre’s on everything concerned in creating Java source files and in defining packages and all forms of classes and interfaces. You will cover the following study topics:

- Assignments

- Flow Control, Exceptions, and Assertions
- Strings, I/O, Formatting, and Parsing
- Generics and Collections
- Inner Classes
- Threads
- Development
Study Details
Your course is designed in a logical structure and allows you to learn at your own pace with each new topic building on the knowledge you have gained in previous topics.
Between the two sections of the course there are 9 assessments to do. The assessments will provide the opportunity for your tutor to see your progress and offer useful feedback helping you to get the most of your training.
Once you have completed the course and assignments you will then sit the Java Standard Edition 6 Programmer Certified Professional Exam (1Z0-851) leading to OCP certification.
The course should take approximately 240 hours of study time.
Note: The minimum computer hardware requirements for this course are;
- DVD-ROM drive, broadband Internet access
- 1024 x 768 or higher resolution screen
- Your operating system must be at least Windows 2000(SP4), WindowsXP(SP3), Windows 2003 or Windows Vista.
- 500MHz or faster processor
- 120MB RAM or higher
- 2GB of available hard disk space for installation
